In 1925, Peter and Lucille Kuyper invested in a small Des Moines, Iowa company that manufactured window screens which went by the brand name, “Rolscreen”. They apparently took complete control of the company shortly thereafter, because in 1926 they moved the company to their hometown, Pella, Iowa, a small community in central Iowa, about 30 miles south east of Des Moines, founded by Dutch settlers, in the mid nineteenth century. The “Rolscreen” window screen was in demand in the mid western states because of the hot and often humid weather conditions in the summer time. The Kuypers managed the company well, and in 1929, they were able to double the plant size for the manufacture of the window screens.

Tim Yaggi took on the role of President and CEO at Pella Corporation in May 2016, and concurrently joined the company’s Board of Directors. Before his tenure at Pella, he was a key figure at Tempur Sealy International, Inc., where he held the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Interim President and CEO from February 2013 until March 2016. During his time there, Tim was instrumental in the successful merger and expansion of Sealy Corporation and the revitalization of the Tempur-Pedic brand.

On a personal note, Tim resides in Pella, Iowa with his wife, Kim. They are proud parents to three grown children: Curtis, who is making his life in Japan; Jackie, who has settled in Chicago; and Rachel, who is currently pursuing a law degree at the University of Notre Dame.
